The month of August is focused purely on created works, primarily new – we want you to make things! -- but also the old, we’re not picky.

Reblog the main posts we create with links to your works, or @thelittlelegends and use the tag(s) The Little Legends/thelittlelegends and whatever games you created for! We will try to reblog things we’re tagged in, but we still might miss some!

There is no such thing as a late entry! The posts will remain rebloggable indefinitely, but we may be less attentive once August is done in terms of reblogging your contributions back here.

IF YOU WANT TO TREAT THIS AS AN EVENT:

The “posting” month begins August 1st with Minish Cap, and ends August 31st, two days after Wind Waker is posted.

Hard mode: besides that this went up the day before... have every game entry done before the next game after it is posted.

Is there a reward? Not at the moment, but we will be deeply grateful and you will get showered with love for your services! If someone states an intention to try for completionism, perhaps we can work something out!

BRIEF GUIDELINES:

You may share other people’s work as well, but please find and @ the author on Tumblr (or comment on their AO3 if you can’t find a Tumblr url) if you do!

While we can't -- and don't want to! -- stop you from reblogging with stuff based in an AU, we ask that you focus on materials that highlight the setting and side characters of the game in question in the works you produce and share. Something that focuses on just Wind Waker Link isn’t as meaningful as something happening on Outset Island. A well-done Link’s Awakening Space AU (ala @ovegakart's short piece here) is very welcome!

Recommended tags for the games themselves usually follow these formats:

LOZ: [Abbreviation, eg. MC, AOL, OoA, LA, etc.] Legend of Zelda: [full name] [Full name] eg. Legend of Zelda (1986) or LOZ (1986) (Remember Tri Force Heroes is three words!)

I am unsure if there's a standard tag on Tumblr to disambiguate Four Swords (2002) from Four Swords (manga) but you can start using that if you'd like for this purpose!

Meet the new Strayz Staff

Pocket is the Strayz manager, has been for a while. She honestly didn't do much, but I respect the kid. They've got a vision that I think could do a lot for us. Took a bit of work for them to agree to come back, but I promised things would be less violent. Hopefully I can actually keep that promise.

Bobo's our stylist. She did some really great work with self titled, and I think we can credit her for a lot of our public image. She's already got a lot of ideas about the looks for this new album. I keep walking in on her giggling under her breath and looking through fashion magazines. I'm... a little worried for what she has planned.

ooc: bobo's my epic bestie and co-strayzer who does a lot of art and is my best ideas guy. shes the stylist because i am bad with male fashion and she gives me most of my ideas for stu/murdoc/russel outfits. also kinda their writing in general

Aya's our main artist. They storyboard music videos and make a lot of graphics for us. She's got this wicked style, and a real creative brain. Sometimes I just sit down to talk with her about those ideas they have. I'm telling you, she's behind a good damn chunk of the stuff people like about us.

ooc: aya irl also does a lot of art for strayz woah!! epic things shes done include making a strudel keychain and spritifying the strayz members. theyre also the number one person for me to bounce serious ideas off of and has sent many a long insightful message about the characters that has almost made me cry

Nina's the newest staff member we've got. Think she was one of Stuart's flings, back when we were still touring. But she kept hanging around, and got along with all of us (besides Murdoc). She's got a great sense of business, and her people-smarts has gotten us out of a lot of trouble. We were in some hot water with the press around when we met her, and needed a PR manager. Noodle liked her and her cats, so we offered her the job.

ooc: nina (aka sherri!) is the only new member of the strayz team since phase 1. if you've been checking the gorillaz ao3 tag, you've almost definitely seen sherri's impressive amount of strayz fanfiction. she is very awesome and provides me with endless domestic strayz ideas

Add 14 new social interactions to the game to make kids’ lives more dynamic and engaging. Children can now talk about funny or deeply important (at least to them) topics — from arguing over nothing and inventing a secret language to telling scary legends or discussing the monster under the bed. CURRENT PHASE: ROUND-UP

In the lead-up to August, we will be doing introductory posts for each of the qualifying games.

These posts will include the basic stats about the game: when they were released, on what hardware, where you can find them now, and what their story was. It will also include links to a walkthrough or two, for those without access to the necessary hardware.

The purpose of these posts is to be shared!

Reblog them with your favourite artwork, current fanworks you love and adore, your favourite AU they’re featured in! Share the lore you wish everyone knew, and the characters who get forgotten!

Share prompts you’ve never gotten around to using, or ones you don’t feel competent to handle!

Do not feel bad about doing this!

Every exchange or event I’ve been in, people desperately wanted prompts and ideas to spark their own imagination!

The goal is for people to learn more about games that they may have never heard of before, or not had the time or ability to engage with in full on their own. And from there we can push up those numbers on AO3 for everyone to enjoy!

Drop us an ask if you'd like to suggest any smaller bonus games that aren't already on the list!

russel, does noodle give the mods a hard time? mods, who's the hardest to work with?

Russel: No, not really. I think she's a lot more comfortable with them since they're all girls around her age (aside from Nina, but the cat photos won her over, I think). She did get pretty shouty with them a couple times over them having different ideas, but that was only when she was already having a hard time.

Pocket: ...probably murdoc. hes part of most of the fights, and he doesnt respect my work at all. ill spend all day figuring out a budget or a schedule for the band then he'll just piss away all the money!! and now i have to do maths!!! again!!!!!!

Nina: Murdoc. Murdoc is THE hardest to work with. Not so much that we rub wrong but that he's just a toddler in an adult man's body. Every city they've been in I've been called on because the papparazzi caught Murdoc day drinking or pissing in the street. It's like he's on a vendetta to make my life a living hell. I will say though that their last bought of Noodle taking Murdoc to court was a hard one to spin. Sure everybody LOVES in-band drama but nobody loves physical abuse, especial when the victim is a woman, but I've got my ways and also many more on keeping their name in everybody's minds during this hiatus ^_~
